As a child he developed a passion for drawing and sketching. Following college he worked in various enterprises and painting only as a hobby. Encouraged by friends he had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition and soon after he abandoned his other endeavors to concentrate on his art. Since 1980, Mr. Roybal has enjoyed much success with his figural subjects which frequently include sports and musical themes.
