Allen Hughes

"Being selected to design the first ""Quail Conservation Stamp"" is one of many honors awarded to Allen Hughes. Already his paintings have been chosen to appear in more than thirty-five wildlife publications. ""Early Arrivals"" was the cover art for May-June Ducks Unlimited Magazine. Twelve of his twenty-one limited edition prints are ""sold out."" In 1977 his entry was chosen as the design for Mississippi's Waterfowl Stamp. The Memphis, Tennessee, plastic surgeon has won ten ""Best of Show"" ribbons at the Midwest Wildlife Art Show. In addition to being the featured artist in 1972, he was the first person to win top honors for both painting and carving. At the 1979 National Wildlife Art Show, Dr. Hughes received a plaque naming him the ""Most Outstanding Wildlife Artist."""
