Burton Moore spent his formative years in Columbia, South Carolina, but makes his home in Charleston, where he finds the right ingredients for his artistic endeavors, and an unusually interesting environment in which to live. His B.A. degree is in American History, and as a history buff he feels that the Carolina low-country is a fascinating area. He finds that wildlife field trips are paramount in importance to his work, and travels for additional inspiration. Moore has varied interests and hobbies. He is a avid hunter and wildlife conservationist, a member of Ducks Unlimited, the National Audubon Society, and the National Rifle Association.
