Malenda Trick Chandler

"Originally from Houston, Texas Malenda Trick-Chandler moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1986. She has become one of the most prolific and successful artists in Music City with her acclaim reaching well beyond the city's borders. Malenda attended the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. She enjoys painting a wide array of subjects from portraits to landscapes, specializing in ""romantic Impressionism."" Her bold flowing lines, compelling colors and interesting textures capture the essence of contemporary lives. As a ""Southern Impressionist"" with 25 years experience in oil painting she captures the spirit of the subject matter and wishes the viewer to feel the emotion of the moment. In 1990, Malenda was offered the distinction of being the only artist selected by the Tennessee State Museum to copy the prestigious Bridgestone Masterworks - a collection of paintings by the Old Masters. The Masterworks were loaned to the State of Tennessee for exhibition one of the few times they have been exhibited outside of Japan. That exhibition included works by Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Sisley, Picasso, Degas, and Van Gogh. Chandler was commissioned by the State to reproduce these magnificent paintings for local collectors. Trick-Chandler own works can be found in country clubs, law firms, restaurants, art galleries and other public buildings throughout the United States, Russia, and England."
