Helen Kunic

"Award-winning artist Helen Kunic has always been interested in costumes and beautiful clothes. A career as a successful fashion illustrator, years of ballet classes, and viewing performances of great dancers, come together in her ethereal and lyrical paintings, and are the source of her inspiration. Helen's interest in art began at the age of three, when she received her first box of crayons. From that point, there was never any doubt that she would become an artist. Born and raised in Michigan, Kunic relocated to Chicago, where studies at the Chicago Art Institute School, The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Northwestern University, and numerous workshops laid the foundation for the development of a signature style and formidable body of work. After moving to California, Helen continued her fashion career and participated in gallery shows, adding the roles of art instructor and greeting card illustrator to her resume. Garnering acclaim for her etchings and paintings in group and solo exhibitions, Kunic's work is collected in the U.S. and abroad. In describing her paintings, Helen says: ""My work reflects my love of theater and ballet, the tender moments of mothers and children, the discoveries of the young, and the beauty of flowers."""
