"Jody Mehaffie was born in 1924 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Her mother was a tremendously talented seamstress and milliner, so she grew up in her mother's sewing room. She made all her dolls their very own clothes.
Her first job was stacking a kiln for one of her mother's friends who was a successful china painter. She was paid with paints and brushes and scraps of water color paper from her studio.
In 1942, she married a Lieutenant, they lived in Japan, Turkey, Germany, and the Netherlands. She had twin girls in 1961 in Sill, Oklahoma. She works with etchings on zinc plates. "
