Schulz, Ken

"Winning the competition for the 1982-83 Tennessee Waterfowl Stamp is one of Gatlinburg, Tn. artist Ken Schulz's most prized awards. Ken began painting at an early age. On his first day in kindergarten, when given a box of crayons, he drew a robin. Today the red dot over his Signature is Symbolic of the red breast in a robin. In 1972 Ken was elected to the prestigious American Watercolor Society of New York. In addition he holds memberships in the Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists of New York, Cincinnati Art Club of Ohio, Academic Artists of Springfield, Mass., and the Salmagundi Club of New York. Ken is also listed in ""Who's Who in American Art."" A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Ken no longer worries about commercial art deadlines. He and his wife, June, have established a fine art gallery in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. With their gallery and home near Gatlinburg, many from across the country visiting that region have collected Ken's oils, watercolors, and egg tempera paintings."
