Not your average outdoorsman-turned artist, Ron Van Gilder is a dedicated sportsman who has spent his entire life studying and learning both in the field and at the easel. His knowledge and love of the outdoors, together with well-honed artistic skills have produced wildlife art widely recognized for it's creativity, realism, and beauty. Ron believes the reason for his success is the result of painting from personal experiences. He devotes 3 months each fall to field study, using methods such as hinting, observation, and photography. He has traveled throughout the United States and Canada as well as Africa to obtain accurate reference material he needs for his paintings.
